Stops along the way include Black Bridge, Nordenskjöld Lookout, Sarmiento Lookout, Lake Pehoé and the Salto Grande Waterfall. You’ll enjoy lunch with a view and then choose between hiking along the southern shore of Lake Grey, and gazing at the floating icebergs, or taking a luxurious trip in catamaran across the lake to the face of the Grey Glacier.

Generally, you´ll have lunch during the sailing trip (departing at 1pm). In exceptional cases, you take a later sailing trip and have lunch before. If you don´t go on the sailing trip, you can take an easy walk to the Peninsula for approximately 1.5 hrs instead.

What is there to enjoy?

Nordenskjöld Lookout

Uniting Pudete with Paine Grande, this turquoise lake serves as the starting point for ecstatic trekkers. It sits under the Los Cuernos Mountains and has an average depth of 200m / 650ft and covers an area of 28 km² / 11mi². It is named after Otto Nordenskjöld (1869-1928), a Swedish-Finnish explorer who dedicated himself to the study of Antarctica, Greenland, Chile, and Peru.

Sarmiento Lookout

Named after the Spanish explorer Sarmiento de Gamboa, it has an average depth of 350m / 1150ft and covers an area of 86 km² / 33mi². It belongs to the same basin as Amarga Lagoon.

Lake Pehoé

A favorite of many for its turquoise colors that often mirror the mountains above, it’s one of the best places to view the Los Cuernos mountains and is also the beginning point for hiking the Francés Valley. It covers an area of 22 km² / 8.5mi².

Salto Grande Waterfall

A magnificent 15m / 50ft waterfall where the Paine River, Lake Nordenskjöld and Lake Pehoé join together. It has a commanding lookout of the striking Los Cuernos Mountains.

Paine Massif

A small but striking mountain range that beholds the majority of the Park’s top sights, including the Las Torres Mountains, Mount Cerro Paine, Ascencio Valley, and the Francés Valley.

Glacier Grey

This is the largest glacier in Torres del Paine National Park, measuring 6km / 4mi wide, 30m / 100ft tall and 19km / 12mi long. Its floating icebergs and glacial moraines are just as picturesque as the glacier itself, which tumbles down from the massive Southern Ice Field. To see this gorgeous ice formation up close, you can take a boat ride, a kayak tour or an ice-hiking excurision.
