Head to the quiet shores of Azul Lagoon in the comforts of a van, where you can then take an easy 30 minute walk amidst remarkable views of the Las Torres Mountains. The views here offer a unique perspective of the granite peaks, one that is very different from other sectors of the Park.  Wildlife is abundant and the whole scene creates a very peaceful ambiance that naturally leads you to ponder life, nature, and the magic in the present moment.

Azul Lagoon has special significance as it is where Lady Florence Dixie, the intrepid British traveler and writer from the Victorian era, saw the Torres del Paine for the first time. Considered the Park’s first tourist, she wrote about the experience in her 1880 book “Across Patagonia” and referred to the Las Torres Mountains as “Cleopatra’s Needles” due to their resemblance to the obelisks of ancient Egypt. Visit the Paine Waterfall before closing this scenery, wildlife and history rich tour.

What is there to enjoy?

Azul Lagoon

Located on the east side of Torres del Paine, it is a less traveled part of the park despite having one of the best views of the iconic towers. It is the only place in the Park where you can get a full view of the Las Torres Mountains without having to hike.

Las Torres

Amongst the most famous mountains in the world, these three towering, granite peaks soar in the blue sky at 2850m / 9350ft, 2800m / 9200ft, and 2600m / 8500ft. Molded by pure glacial force, these are the breath-taking towers that give the Park its name.

Paine Massif

A small but striking mountain range that beholds the majority of the Park’s top sights, including the Las Torres Mountains, Mount Cerro Paine, Ascencio Valley, and the Francés Valley.

Paine Waterfall

An incredible place where you will elevate your senses between the pure air, the deep sound of this waterfall and next to the panoramic view of Torres del Paine National Park.

Wildlife

Abundant and diverse wildlife run freely in Torres del Paine National Park, most notably guanacos, Chilean skunk, grey and Andean foxes, pumas, Andean deer, flamengos, flightless Rheas, and condors. Within the Park lives 120 types of birds, 25 mammals, 4 fish, 3 amphibians, 7 reptiles and 170 species of insect.
