Due to wear from the passing of time and climatic conditions, the main trails inside Torres del Paine national park have deteriorated. Reconstructing these trails in order to ensure a safe and smooth hike for our visitors has been an ongoing job, and has resulted in various upkeep projects.

Thankful for community support

This work requires the help and cooperation of the community, continuously opening up opportunities for tourists from all over the world to collaborate in the reconstruction of trails, reforestation efforts, and other activities. And so our volunteer programs have been led by young people from different continents, who in addition to learning our language, also seize the chance to explore this corner of the world that attracts so many visitors.

Volunteers on our trails

Thanks to the partnership we’ve established with Conservation VIP, we've been able to make progress on various maintenance projects on the trails leading to the park's most breathtaking vista point: Base Torres. Volunteers can contribute by working the land, improving footpaths, and assisting a dedicated team of trail engineers in creating sustainable trails for the park, and are able to leave their mark on Patagonia.

Volunteers in our regenerative garden

At the hotel, there is also room for volunteers to contribute time to the agricultural miracle that we have created here in Patagonia. Our team in the garden receives volunteers from other countries for several weeks during the season. They come to learn about the techniques used and the processes we’ve developed in order to harvest nutrient-rich food that’s free of chemicals and pesticides.
