The park ranger corps is an essential part of the initiatives promoted by the AMA Torres del Paine NGO, and the rangers have been an established presence in the parks each season since its creation.
What They Do
Our park ranger’s primary role is to monitor and oversee visitor access to the reserve. They assist visitors at the entrance, offering guidance and addressing any questions they might have during their visit. They also oversee any necessary evacuations of hikers on the trail to the Base Torres viewpoint, and provide rescue support in the event that visitors have accidents or fall ill and need assistance.
Work on the trails
The park rangers work on the trails, repairing, maintaining, and installing signage, and sharing environmental information through educational talks.
