Cerro Negro Ranch is a place frozen in time, a place where visitors with our All Inclusive program can take a small stop on their way from the Punta Arenas airport to the National Park, and begin to become familiar with Patagonia.
Sheepdogs
This is where visitors can meet the friendly local herd dogs. These are working dogs, trained by the Kusanovic family to carry out a variety of tasks at the ranch, from protecting the sheep from predators to herding the flocks so that sheep don’t get lost.
Sheep Shearing
Looking after our sheep is an essential part of our work here at Cerro Negro Ranch. Here, during each shearing season, we make sure that each sheep is treated with all the necessary care to ensure its well-being. This keeps the flock healthy and more comfortable in warmer seasons. Visitors to the ranch can learn more about shearing, and all about the world of wool.
The Historic Ranch House
Cerro Negro ranch also has an historic house, now a museum, which shows us exactly what life was like several decades ago when the Kusanovic family began their story. Though time has passed, the house remains as an exhibit of heritage, preserving the most important of the region's traditions and customs.
