Making ongoing improvements to the trails in Torres del Paine

A visitor favorite leading to the iconic base of the peaks, Base Torres trail is one of the most widely visited and heavily traveled paths in the park. To prevent the deterioration of various access points and to maintain the necessary separation between the trail and nature, we’ve developed ongoing trail upkeep projects in order to make the journey safer, more sustainable, and more accessible.

Collaboration in Torres del Paine Since 2022

Every year, hundreds of tourists come to the Magallanes region to visit one of the most famous parks in the world and to see the iconic granite peaks. To this end, in 2022 the "Your Best Footprint for Paine" campaign was launched in order to spread the word on the importance of the trails in our national parks. The reconstruction of the Base Torres Trail was made possible thanks to an alliance with ConservationVIP, who are international experts in sustainable trail construction, and done in collaboration with volunteers from the NGO AMA Torres del Paine.
